    StreetDrama
Street Drama in Panauti village in Kavre District
Synergy Nepal and three other local NGO partners are jointly implementing a project called "Advocacy for the Rights of Indigenous People (ARIP)" supported by the European Commission, Brussels. The project benefits more than 12,000 people living in 48 Village Development Committees of four hilly districts: Dolakha (gateway to Mt. Everest), Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk and Nuwakot in the Central Development Region. A unique book on Human Rights entitled ‘Indigenous People's Rights: Theory and Practice' has been published under this project. Each beneficiary has received this book for study in groups and at home. They have learnt indigenous people's rights including ILO 169 resolution, how democracy can strengthen human rights, Election of Constitutional Assembly, what kinds of provisions should be in the would-be constitution in favour of indigenous people and the leading role of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities.
All beneficiaries and neighbours have access to information from 12 Human Rights Information and Communication Service Centres (HRISC) established in the area. A series of training programs have been completed. These training activities dealt with the promotion and protection of indigenous people's rights, improvement of their leadership, advocacy, lives, entrepreneurship, project management, financial management and so on.
A video documentary "Introduction of Indigenous and Ethnic Groups" was produced and screened widely in rural areas.
  2. Synergy Nepal is working in collaboration with Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya, which has developed Unicode Nepali Font. SN is promoting Unicode Nepali Font for computers not only in urban but also rural areas. It also sells its services in installing this font and providing training.
